Are you ready for a trip, a SeaTrip?! Good! Because we have mermaids and booty both ahoy and avast! We will be diving deep on an uproarious adventure full of marine life, gender exploration, and capitalist critique.
SeaTrip is a musical comedy mermaid mini-series. It tells the story of a misfit who cannot find his footing in this gendered and commodified world. Only when transformations force him to abandon any hope of fitting in, does she begin to find her path. This super gay romp explores themes of usefulness, self-expression, and colonization through music and absurdity!

Synopsis

Fisher, an awkward misfit in a small fishing town, has never fit in on land. After venturing into forbidden waters, he’s bitten by a mysterious mermaid and unexpectedly transforms into Princess Baby — a fully femme mer-creature with no roadmap home. When returning to the village proves impossible, her new friend Pisscat nudges her toward the ocean to discover who she might become there.
Out at sea, Princess Baby befriends Marial, a mermaid determined to trade her tail for legs so she can be with her human love, the Prince. The Prince happens to be heir to FishBliss, the powerful fishing corporation that dominates the local economy and has recently released a wildly popular new product called Mergaine.
Princess Baby’s attempts to undo her transformation lead her to the Sea Witch, whose magic only complicates matters. As Princess Baby continually adjusts to changes she begins to uncover unsettling truths about the tangled relationships between the merfolk, the kingdom, and the fishing industry — including the hidden cost of Mergaine’s success.
Tensions rise, transformations occur, and exactly how it resolves? Let’s just say that at the ball, someone might get stabbed… but the deeper message is embracing friendship and our inner-truths, no matter how strange and non-conforming they turn out to be.
3 year Plan

After 1 year of working on SeaTrip and almost finishing 6 episodes, we are about to enter phase 2 of this project. We have a total of 16 episodes planned and at our current rate of 1x episode every 3x months we have 3x more years of production ahead. Phase 2 begins our underwater journey. We plan to build out a giant underwater environment to serve as both our Set for filming episodes, and as an immersive art installation to be shared with the public. We currently have grant applications out to help fulfill this goal.
Phase 3 will begin as some of our characters leave the sea to continue their adventures on land.
Will they find their true identities, will they stop the exploitation of the oceans?
Stay tuned!

SeaTrip Theme Song Lyrics

SeaTrip
The Emancipation
Of Gender and the Ocean
On a boat ride through the night’s delights
Seeking those fish with scales so bright
Swimming and dancing down below the waves
What treasures sink deep no one can say
On a ship
SeaTrip
Going on a trip
SeaTrip
Come and take a sip
SeaTrip
Going a trip
SeaTrip
You started out strong Masculine in name
Not knowing your place But still so vain
Wasting your days on a little dinghy
You want to catch a whale with your little thingy
Is that a ship?
SeaTrip
Going on a trip
SeaTrip
Come and take a sip
SeaTrip
Going a trip
SeaTrip
Through all this madness the capitalists plot
To commodify our longing by making us hot
Mergaine’s a coming, limber as a dolphin
With Harry the Toupe tugging on our emotions
Just a sip
SeaTrip
Come and take a sip
SeaTrip
You want to take a sip
SeaTrip
Come and take a sip
SeaTrip
You thought you had a catch but after one little bite
More than a fright it all turned on it’s side
Now we’re the lost treasures so deep below
Will we ever surface, not even the writers know
Fell off a ship
SeaTrip
Going on a trip
SeaTrip
You took too big a sip
SeaTrip
Going a trip
SeaTrip
So much more to come down below the surf
Releasing gender might lead to mirth
But who’s to say this adventure runs long
Afterall our stories all lead back to this song
On a trip
SeaTrip
This came from Spacetrip
SeaTrip
Come and take a sip
SeaTrip
Going on a trip
SeaTrip
Emancipating
Gendered Oceans
